However, once you've got people on your website, whether using Google ads, newsletters, print advertising etc., you've got a very short window of opportunity to grab their attention.
This is where video comes in.
If you've got the choice of sitting back and watching a short presentation explaining concisely what a product or service you're interested in is all about rather than reading the same information, what would you choose?
We're all time poor and anything which makes our job easier we tend to go for. If the video is informative and entertaining then so much the better.
So, what should you put in your video?
1. If you have a one minute 'presentation' that you'd give to someone you met at a networking function then use that. This would include the main reasons for using your product.
2. Don't go for the 'hard sell'. Be informative and explain how you can help solve the viewers' problems.
3. Include video and/or stills of your product.
4. If you can include a 'call to action' do so eg. 'click here for special offer'.
5. Keep it short. It would need to be exceptionally interesting to hold people's attention for over two minutes.
Once you've made your video it could be used to increase your sales in a number of ways:
1. Put in on your website to increase conversions.
2. Add it to free video hosting sites like youtube and send the links to prospective customers.
3. Make it into a DVD and show at exhibitions or put it in your brochure.
In summary, if you are not making use of video on the internet then you could be missing out on valuable business!
